DAY OUT!
There will be no more evening workshops now. Instead we are planning a day out so we can have a bit of fun and also get some stuff for the exhibition and booklet. How does Wednesday 26 or Sunday 30 March sound? Expect a phonecall soon! :-) Vicky
The 'Identity Projects' are aimed at 18 - 25 year-olds from religious backgrounds who live in Scotland. With support from the City Council, The Edinburgh Inter-Faith Association are piloting two projects this year, one for Sikh men and one for Muslim men.
It's not always easy to be a young guy from these faith backgrounds, especially in an post 9/11 world, so through a series of 15 evening workshops led by a facilitator, the two groups will explore what it is to be Sikh/Muslim, young, male and living in Scotland.
With the help of professionals, participants will put an exhibition and booklet together, to show the human face of Islam and Sikhism in Scotland.

May - Exhibition and booklet launch for both groups
The Edinburgh Inter-Faith Association was officially formed in 1989 to promote and facilitate positive engagement between the faith communities of our religiously and culturally diverse city. The EIFA is now considered one of the most experienced and developed Inter-Faith bodies in the U.K.
We have organised and promoted a range of events including talks, film screenings, exhibitions, inter-faith pilgrimages, as well as a number of conferences on subjects such as Islamaphobia and Science and Religion. Furthermore, we co-ordinate and promote a significant programme of activities in Edinburgh during Inter Faith Week.
We also provide a consultation function to bodies such as local authorities, schools, hospitals, the media and community organisations. The future will see EIFA building on its successes through continuing to engage widely and by developing new and strengthening our current partnerships.
